Do you take my insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider for the major insurance companies. Many of my clients use their insurance. Here’s how it works — you pay me my full fee at the time of the appointment. I will give you a receipt and you turn that into your insurance company. Your insurance company will send reimbursement directly to you. If you want more specifics related to reimbursement and your out-of-network benefits for mental health – please call your insurance company. If you want a therapist where you pay a small co-pay and the therapist works with your insurance company to get paid, I’m not the best therapist for you.
What if I have Medicare?
As a Provider, I have opted out of Medicare. Because of my “provider opt-out status” with Medicare, you and I will need to establish a private agreement for you to use my services. If you want to become a client of mine under Medicare – I will ask you to sign/initial a document, that enters us into a a private agreement. Please understand that I do not submit claims to Medicare on your behalf. Also it’s important that you understand that you cannot be reimbursed for my services from Medicare because of this private agreement. Medicare will not reimburse you for these services. You cannot submit a claim to Medicare for my services nor request that I submit a claim for you. My fees are not subject to Medicare’s cost-sharing or payment limits. If you want a therapist who accepts Medicare, I’m not the best therapist for you.
